The Alpha Course: An opportunity to explore the meaning of life

WHAT IS ALPHA?
An opportunity for anyone to explore the christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening, low-key, friendly and fun environment. Alpha is supported by all the main christian denominations. There are now around 7,500 churches running the Alpha course in the UK, in churches, pubs, restaurants, universities, prisons and factories. It was featured on an ITV series, "Alpha: Could It Change Your Life?" hosted by Sir David Frost, who wanted to find out why so many young people were attracted to it, and why over 1,000,000 people had been on it so far!
The topics we cover are:
- Intro Party - Christianity: Boring, Irrelevant, Untrue?
- Who Is Jesus?
- Why Did He Die?
- How Can I Be Sure Of My Faith?
- Why & How Should I Read The Bible?
- Why & How Should I Pray?
- How Does God Guide Us?
- How Can I Resist Evil?
- Why & How Should I Tell Others?
- Does God Heal Today?
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
There is a meal together at the start of each session, which gives you the opportunity to get to know your fellow course members. This is followed by a series of talks looking at topics such as 'Who Is Jesus?' and 'Why and How Do I Pray?'. After each talk or video we divide into small groups for discussion. Listen, learn, discuss & discover - and ask ANYTHING! At Alpha no question is too simple or hostile.
